How should you care for Flowers and Foliage once they arrive at your home?
Put them in fresh water, add a pinch of sugar. Don’t forget: the edge of the stems might be dehydrated so cut them off about 2 cm so that the water can be absorbed easily. Tropical Flowers and Foliage do not like current air nor direct sun. The room temperature should not vary and not be over 25º C.
What should a Flower shop know about Costa Rican Tropical Flowers and Foliage?
If for example a Strelizia (Bird of Paradise) is totally closed, don’t panic and think this flower cannot be sold. Just cut off the stem 2 cm and put it into water with a little sugar. You will be surprised how fast this beautiful Bird of Paradise will open its flower.
How are the Costa Rican Flowers and Foliage shipped?
They are carefully packed in boxes, if necessary the stems are wrapped in wet paper to avoid dehydration. Flowers are shipped at a temperature of 10º to 15º C, Foliage at 3º - 5º C.
